week 77 New Stuff

So this last Wednesday was a world wide mission broadcast where they announced a few changes. The big ones being in the Schedule and in the Key Indicators.

Schedule:
So now instead of having a world wide Schedule where we get up at 6:30 and etc... they changed it around so now the mission president can decide (he still has yet to decide in my mission.) But some big changes are things like, waking up earlier/later, coming back home earlier/later. Studying in companionship in the afternoon, Pday starting at 8:30, etc.

Key Indicators:
The Key Indicators are the dats. The church will now only measure a couple dats in place of the 9 from before. They are:
1. Baptisms
2. Confirmations
3. Inv in Sac Meeting
4. Inv with baptismal date
5. New Inv.

So we had an awesome moment on Saturday night at like 9:30. I had finished making the calls and planning and my companion and I went on our roof to wash clothes. While up there our new neighbor who just moved in this week comes out to talk to us. He tells us that he used to listen to the missionaries from where he just moved from and that he wanted us to keep teaching him. Immediately afterward, I get a call from a woman who lives in our area. She used to receive the Elders here half a year ago, but she went away for while and just barely came back and also wants us to keep teaching here. It was a killer day and a great week.

For Pday today we went back to Valle de Angeles, which was aight. We hiked up to some waterfalls and that´s about it! Pics included.

week 76 Time

I had a lot of emails today and it just kind of is overwhelming so I won`t be writing a whole lot today. I`m still with Elder Hernandez (from Guate) here in the Kennedy, everything is going super well and I am healthy. Today for pday we played a ton of soccer and it was dope. I am really craving hard ice cream right now I don`t know why. I forgot to take pictures again, woops. But I promise that this week I will take pictures. I didn`t really have any crazy fun story to tell this week, so I`ll just send this email saying happy birthday Grandma Helen, Grandpa Bob, Tia Lelani, Alyssa, Josee, and whoever else, and by sharing a little thought.

I always wanted to go on a mission, until the time really came for me to go. I was incredibly nervous and there were so many things I didn`t want to leave behind. I was afraid that I wouldn`t be able to coherently share the gospel, I was afraid that I wouldn`t be able to talk to strangers in the streets and knock on their doors, I was afraid that I would miss everything going on back at home for these two years, and I was incredibly afraid I wouldn`t last two years. Despite all my fears and worries, I went anyway because I knew it was the right thing to do. All of my worries instantly left in the moment that I enterred the MTC. I picked up the language quickly, I was able to express myself, and I felt happier than I ever had before. The months before my mission were hard, I was scared and worried, and I was closed. But I know that when we choose to follow the will of the Father and not of our own, we are blessed. It is incredibly important to always remember this. I know that if we look firstly to our Heavenly Father in our struggles, that He will guide us, and that He will always bless us.

I just completed 17 months last week, 1 more and I can burn my sister missionary skirt.

Love,

Elder Anderson :-)

week 75 Amanda Please

So this week was cool. Esther, my super dope awesome investigator showed up to church with a notebook full of questions and thoughts about what she has read so far in the BoM and notes on all of the pamphlets we´ve given her. Awesome.

I have a super killer headache and fever right now, but the medicine and coca cola seems to help.

This Wednesday is the changes meeting, but my companion and I are staying together, we are just going to go to drop off the muerto (Elder Reinoso) at the meeting and stick around to eat pizza or something.

I love the pics and stuff you guys send, keep it coming. Being a missionary is dope. Love you all.

week 74 Impuesto de Guerra

Forget everything I said about last week.

So on Friday morning the Elders from the office came to pick up Elder Padilla, and I stayed in my area to go to a couple appointments on divisions with a member.  I was about to finish my divisions and meet up with the Zone Leaders when President called me telling me that I was going to have two new companions that he would come to bring up. They are Elder Reinoso (Guatemala) and Elder Hernandez (Guatemala). They came up because of something crazy.

So those two were in the South together as companions. But the other night they got home to find a note in their house asking for Impuesto de Guerra, SO they closed their area and there is now an investigation going on in the South, and so now they are stuck here with me. :-)

They are pretty chill, but every Elder has their weird parts, so let´s start with Elder Reinoso. He has 24 months in the mission, and leaves on the 18th for Guate. He baptized a girl here and is now engaged with her for the 20th of October. Yeah. I know. And well, he pretty much lays in bed every morning and night looking at photos of her.

Elder Hernandez, rolls his eyes pretty much everytime Elder Reinoso talks. He has 4 months, and is from the same group as my son Elder Coyotl
. He is pretty cool, but just still super new.

We contacted a reference this week that was super positive. He is a 19 year old named Noe. He is super positive and has a baptismal date for the 4th of February.

I ain´t gonna die don´t worry, everything is cool. But maybe they will, I don´t know. Love you guys. Hope you all have a great week.

no pics.

(the a little while later another email came.... )

Well I received enough hatemail from you guys already so I asked elder Gamez for some pics. here you go.
