week 50 Week Before Changes

So I left the cyber without realizing that I never sent the big email, so here I am really quick writing you guys the big email.

So this week was a little special. On Tuesday we went to Tegucigalpa for a Zone Conference, there was a ton of missionaries there and it was super cool. Only problem is, is that the Zone Leaders and Ap`s were given 30 minutes to teach, and just about everyone went over an hour. We ended up eating around 1:30, and I can`t say the classes were good either. BUT  I got to see my whole MTC group, which was cool. We took a photo together, but I don`t have it, so you`ll have to wait to see the pic.

Made more Snickerdoodles.

This Saturday we had three baptisms, and finally baptized Reina, I can`t remember if I have mentioned her before. The bad part, is that Elder Valladares, Barrios and I left our backpacks in the mens bathroom while we baptized, with all of our clean clothes. We baptized, entered the bathroom, and found that all of my stuff had been stolen. Including my entire quincena. On the 15th we went to take out my quincena, but the ATM took the money out of my account with out actually giving me the dough. So I had to wait a super long time while the financiero figured it all out. I finally took out my entire quincena, a little over 100 dollah, and that very night, they stole everything from my backpack. They didn`t however, steal my bible and book of mormon, cause that`d just be wrong.

Today, Hermana Sanchez the El Salvadorean made us all pupusas, and they weren`t that bad.

Best Honduran food is the baleada. I think everybody should try them before they die.

A little baggy.

pics, including the back yard with the pila.

week 49 Jesus Es Verbo No Sustantivo

This week was great! We went to the temple in Tegucigalpa and met up with the Elders from the Zone closest to ours, which is actually pretty far away. Out here in Danli, I never get to see anyone from outside my Zone, so this was a nice treat.
This Thursday, the mission president came to Danli to do an interview, so he called me in the morning to tell me to get the keys to the chapel to open it up for him. So I opened up the chapel and the bishops office for him and he told us we could just wait 20 minutes outside or we could go work. So we left to go work, and in the 20 minutes we went out, we found a new investigator and put a new baptismal date. Every minute counts, and we were exactly where we needed to be.

In the ward we have a new couple of investigators that are going to get married and baptized, so we had to raise money with them to pay for the lawyer, paperwork and everything. So I taught them how to make snickerdoodles today and we sold a bunch, after 3 hours, we already had enough.
So nobody told me if my mission leader really served in Guatemala with Uncle Ryan, so you´ll have to ask this week. Francisco Avilez. Thanks, you´re all duraznos.
Tomorrow I´m going to Tegucigalpa again for a zone conference, which is cool. They´ve stuck me in the middle of nowhere my whole mission, so it´s always cool to go.
Gotta go, don´t have pictures, because my camera is dumb and didn´t bum photos off any elders this week. Sorry, love you guys.

week 48 Excellence

This week was pretty normal, nothing too extravagant or elegant, but it was, nevertheless, excellent.

I have a new ward mission leader, his name is Francisco Avilés, and he supposedly served in the same mission as my uncle in Guatemala, but I can´t tell if he was kidding or not, so someone will have to verify with Uncle Ryan. Other than that, he´s actually a pretty great mission leader. This week I have a HUGE List of members planned to visit my investigators with me. Excellent.

As of this week, I have officially handed off all my investigators from my old area off to the hermanas, which is not excellent, but I have had a good week, which is.

On the 9th, my beloved and very excellent son, Elder Samayoa, turned 21. We celebrated and ate dinner with my excellent family of investigators. And we ate cake!

This week 3 families of investigators arrived to church... So you all can pretty much guess that I about died, cause that is an excellent amount.

Today we went to the waterfalls, they are most excellent, and then we had a picnic on the mountain.

On Wednesday I am going to the temple in Tegucigalpa. I am super pumped.

See you later.

Week 47 is it hard to be a gringo

This week was really kind of nuts. A lot of really messed up things are going on right now in the lives of my investigators, and they called me the other night and tried to get my help, but really there was nothing I could do... I can`t really tell you guys, but ask me after the mission and I`ll tell you. Long story short, my latest convert is in prison right now, and her stepdad disappeared.

This week only one family came to church. But this time the ward really wrapped their arms around this family. The bishops wife babied the mom the whole day, and I found friends for the kid, and it went perfectly, they LOVED the church. In the middle of the testimony meeting, somebody bore testimony that Thomas S Monson was a true prophet. The kid lights up, turns to me and yells, ´´YOU`RE A PROPHET??¨ I told him no, and that the prophet was Thomas S Monson, and then he asked me if the prophet was a gringo, I told him yes, and then he asked me the funniest question I have ever heard in my life, ´´is it hard to be a gringo?´´ Not only did I start to laugh, but everyone on the nearby benches began to too.

Today we played soccer, and I WAS FIRST PICK, I almost died, I`m never first pick, and gringos are never first pick. But today, I am the man. Unfortunately, I lost the other half of my toe. I don`t know if you all remember that I lost half of my toenail, but today I lost the other half in a really bloody mess with my sock. It hurts a lot. But thanks to the miracle of modern medicine, it now hurts slightly less.

Today I am going to cut my hair, and then go to a noche de hogar with my investigators and the good old obispo.

This is my house.
Love you guys
